HOW TO KEEP A CLEANER HOME WHEN YOU LIVE WITH INDOOR PETS

Feeding Areas

Does it seem pet food ends up everywhere around where your pets eat? If so, place a plastic placemat under your pet’s feeding and drinking bowls. Food and spills are contained in one area, making for an easy cleanup.

Cleaner Litter Box

Cleaning the litter box is a chore that everyone hates! If you use Nature’s Miracle Disposable Litter Box , you won't worry about this task anymore.

The box is biodegradable, made from recycled paper, and safe for the landfill. It is not only durable but stands up to odor. Baking soda built into the box helps control odor and keeps litter drier and fresher longer than a traditional box. Simply toss when it is time to replace.

You won't miss washing out the litter box, will you?

Keep Kitty Litter Where It Belongs

Using a mat underneath the litter box is essential to catch stray pieces of litter, so it is not all over your home.

The P etFusion SmartGrip Cat Litter Box Mat not only looks pretty but is functional. When your cat exits the box, small grooves trap pieces of litter caught in its claws.

Many grooved mats are hard and uncomfortable for cats, but this one is made of soft material similar to a yoga mat. This means your kitty will step onto the mat, versus jumping over it from inside the box and causing a huge mess. And if the litter is not caught in the groove, there is an outer channel that catches it before it rolls onto the floor.

To clean, wash once a week wash with warm soapy water and dry with a clean lint free towel.

Get A Handle On Pet Hair

Love your pet but hate all the hair that sheds onto your sofa or car? Use rubber gloves to pick up all that unwanted hair. Put on gloves and run your hand across the fabric. This friction makes hair cling to the gloves.

For larger areas, Sticky Sheetsare a life saver. Lay these down on surfaces covered with hair. Your sofa will be hair free! There are multiple reuses per sheet so you can use one to clean an entire room. And cutting them in half will give you more bang for your buck.

A Better Smelling Pet Bed

Over time you may notice that your pet’s bed smells, even after washing the cover in the machine? If this is the case, you need to wash the entire bed.

Overnight, soak the whole bed in the tub with hot water, laundry detergent and a ¼ cup of white vinegar (make sure water covers the top of the entire bed). The vinegar will eliminate bad odors and get rid of bacteria.

If the cover is removable, launder in the washing machine with hot water, mild detergent and a 1/4 cup of white vinegar. No more bad smells!

How to Clean Pet Urine From the Carpet

Accidents happen, and occasionally your pet will pee in the house. The worst is when it happens on the carpet.

Minimize damage to your carpet by cleaning properly and ASAP. Also, do not use a harsh scrubbing motion when cleaning soiled carpet. This can discolor and ruin the texture of your carpet.

First, blot with a clean white towel or paper towels. Next, pour water over the spot and blot with a clean towel again. Continue this step until you cannot see any more yellow. Next, use a pet enzymatic cleaner such as Miracle Pet on the stain.

It is important that you use a product specifically to clean up pet stains. These products contain an enzyme that helps to not only remove the stain but also eliminate the smell.

If you do not get rid of the odor, your pet may continue to pee in the same spot, because they can smell the urine. You may need to repeat steps 3-4 a couple of times until the odor is gone.

Hopefully these tips make your pet friendly home cleaner and more manageable.
